Job Summary
The Cashier will be responsible for managing daily cash transactions at the Jalalabad Branch in accordance with the institution’s approved policies, procedures, internal controls, and Sharia-compliant operational requirements.
The position holder will ensure accurate and secure handling of cash, proper recording of all transactions, reconciliation of cash balances, and provision of professional services to customers. The Cashier will also work closely with the Branch Manager, Finance, Operations, and other relevant departments to maintain effective cash management and financial control
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and disburse cash to customers in accordance with approved transactions and institutional procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all daily cash transactions.
- Verify cash, transaction documents, customer information, and supporting documents before processing transactions.
- Ensure that all cash transactions are properly authorized and supported by the required documentation.
- Conduct daily cash counting and reconciliation and report any discrepancies immediately to the Branch Manager.
- Maintain the branch cash register and ensure that cash balances remain within approved limits.
- Safeguard cash and other financial instruments under the cashier’s custody.
- Process customer payments, collections, financing-related transactions, and other approved cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with the institution’s internal control, cash management, AML/CFT, and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper filing and confidentiality of cash-related documents and records.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department regarding daily cash balances, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare and submit daily cash reports and other required reports accurately and on time.
- Identify and immediately report suspicious, irregular, or unauthorized transactions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service to customers.
- Ensure that cash handling and customer transactions are conducted in a professional and controlled environment.
- Support branch operations when required and perform other relevant duties assigned by the Branch Manager or authorized management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Candidates with an Associate Degree / 14th Grade qualification combined with relevant professional experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in cashiering, accounting, finance, banking, microfinance, or a related field.
- Previous experience with a bank, microfinance institution, financial institution, or similar organization will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of cash handling and financial transaction procedures.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and perform cash reconciliation.
- Familiarity with accounting or financial management software is an advantage.
- Ability to work accurately with numerical data and financial documents
