Job Summary
The Infrastructure / Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design, supervision, and quality assurance of infrastructure projects, particularly in rural and disaster‑prone areas. The role requires technical expertise in civil engineering and water resource management, with a focus on community‑based construction and sustainable development.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications for infrastructure works.
- Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and community standards.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved designs and standards.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor progress to maintain quality and safety.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and field staff.
- Support the construction of protective structures, drainage systems, and small‑scale community projects.
- Apply innovative and cost‑effective engineering solutions suitable for rural and disaster‑prone contexts.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for management and donors.
- Monitor field activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Work closely with project teams, local communities, and government authorities.
- Provide technical input to project planning and implementation strategies.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resource Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure development, water management, or small‑scale civil works projects.
- Proven experience in design, supervision, and quality control of infrastructure works (protective structures, drainage systems, community construction).
- Experience working in rural or disaster‑prone areas is an asset.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and monitor field activities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering and water resource management.

Language Requirements
- Fluency in Pashto and Dari (oral and written).
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
