Razia Bahlol Wardak Hospital is seeking a highly qualified, empathetic, and dedicated Specialist Pediatrician to manage and lead our Pediatric Department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents, managing acute and chronic pediatric illnesses, handling pediatric emergencies, conducting routine health assessments, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical care in both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) settings.
Key Responsibilities
· Clinical Management: Conduct thorough clinical examinations, diagnose, and treat a wide range of childhood illnesses, infections, growth disorders, and pediatric emergencies.
· Emergency & Critical Care: Provide immediate, life-saving interventions for critical pediatric cases, including severe dehydration, respiratory distress, neonatal resuscitation, and shock.
· Wards & Rounds: Conduct daily medical rounds for admitted pediatric patients, review treatment plans, adjust medications, and ensure proper monitoring by the nursing staff.
· Collaborative Care: Coordinate closely with the hospital's Immunization (Vaccine), Laboratory, and Maternity departments to ensure integrated care for newborns and young patients.
· Prescription & Safety: Prescribe medications and calculate precise dosages tailored to pediatric weight and age, strictly avoiding over-prescription and ensuring rational drug use.
· Health Education & Counseling: Provide clear, supportive, and compassionate counseling to parents regarding child nutrition, hygiene, breastfeeding, developmental milestones, and treatment adherence.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential electronic or paper-based patient medical records, registers, and discharge summaries.
Job Requirements
· Education: Holder of an MD (Medical Doctor) degree from a recognized medical university, along with a verified Post-Graduate Specialization Certificate/Diploma in Pediatrics (داخله اطفال) approved by the MoPH.
· Credentials: Active operational registration, certification, and exit-exam credentials with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the Afghanistan Medical Council.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-specialization clinical experience working as a Pediatrician in a reputable, high-volume general or specialized hospital.
· Technical Skills: Proficient in pediatric advanced life support (PALS), neonatal resuscitation (NRP), cannula insertion for infants, and ventilator/oxygen management.
· Languages: Fluent in local languages (Dari and Pashto), both written and spoken. Strong proficiency in professional clinical English is highly preferred for medical reporting.
· Core Attributes: High emotional resilience, exceptional communication skills with children and parents, and strict adherence to medical ethics.
